Guard I

Overview of the Position

Resident Monitor/Guard I shall be security personnel experienced in monitoring at-risk populations in a residential facility setting. Duties include but are not limited to monitoring the clients’ whereabouts both in and out of the facility, signing client/ guests, in and out of the facility, answering phones, supervising clients conducting daily chores, maintaining security and control throughout the facility and the grounds, conducting breathalyzers, urinalysis and pat searches as well as ensuring facility sanitation and adhering to District of Columbia fire safety codes and facility emergency procedures. Guards I will also participate in fire drills in the building, and educate staff and clients on safety procedures and other duties as assigned by the Facility Director, Deputy Director of Operations or designee.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Prior military and/or public safety experience preferred

• District of Columbia Fire Safety Director/ Guard Certification preferred or qualify to obtain one
